Meet the Principal

 

Principal Gayle Ferguson, M. Ed. has been an urban educator within the Dallas Independent School District for 32 years. Her most rewarding years have been spent as the principal of Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy, an early college high school. Since 2008, as the inaugural principal of the Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy, she has been able to play a vital role in the birth of this exciting program; collaborate in the planning for the new facility; witness a facility construction project from concept to completion and witness many students obtain an associate degree along with a high school diploma.

Gayle Ferguson was selected as the 2023 Dallas Independent School District Principal of the year for the Choice/ Magnet Division. Under her leadership, Gilliam Collegiate Academy is a Texas Education Agency A-rated campus and a 2014 and 2021 Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon School. Principal Ferguson is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University and the University of North Texas.
